Video: LeBron James’ wild warmup dunk

LeBron James

LeBron James has never competed in the NBA Slam Dunk Contest. If he ever did, would this number be part of his repertoire?

During warmups for Sunday’s game against the Cavaliers, James went between the legs, tossed the ball off the backboard from beyond the free-throw line and caught it for a powerful one-handed finish. (Rashard Lewis makes a cameo “contesting” the jam, clearly auditioning to become James’ prop if the three-time MVP unexpectedly decides to do a dunk contest.)

Check it out at the 35-second mark below for James’ dunk, which comes after a few impressive offerings from Heat teammates:

Come on, LeBron, do a dunk contest! Bring back its popularity. We all know it's just a gimmick and there are hardly any new ideas, but it's a fun time. I'd rather see stars doing it than that one guy this year. Or the other guy whose name I can't quite remember.
