The NBA announced Sunday that Warriors guard Jarrett Jack has been fined $25,000 for “verbal abuse of a game official” at the end of a 118-116 loss to the Lakers at the Staples Center on Friday night.

Golden State had been upset at a number of foul calls down the stretch of the game, which carried playoff implications for both teams. The Lakers finished with a 50-16 advantage in free throws attempted and pulled out the two-point victory after Carl Landry missed a mid-range jumper with two seconds remaining and a Stephen Curry three-quarter court heave rimmed off at the final buzzer. Video replays appeared to show Jack walking over to address an official after Curry’s miss.

Golden State, fighting to maintain the No. 6 seed in the Western Conference, dropped to 45-35. L.A. maintained a one-game lead for the West’s No. 8 seed with the win, improving to 43-37.

The Lakers also lost All-Star guard Kobe Bryant to a season-ending Achilles injury during the fourth quarter of Friday night’s game.

Jack, 29, is averaging 13.0 points, 5.5 assists and 3.1 rebounds in 29.7 minutes per game this season. He’s on the books for $5.4 million this season.

The Laker is to BIG of a profit for the NBA. Laker make the NBA lots $$$$$$$$$$ in the post season. I knew last month that somehow the Laker will be in the playoff b/c of the 3 blind mice rigging any team who played  vs the Laker end of the season. Them ref should be investigated.

I read somewhere that a ref in this game called 19 on the Warriors and 0 on the Lakers.  I don't know if that's true but if it is, it really makes one think that there is something to the Lakers playoff conspiracy.

@ Joey I couldnt have said it any better.. The game was clearly rigged.. I said it before & I'll say it again I can't wait til Stern leaves then hopefully we can see real basketball where teams actually earn wins & not get it handed to them.. Stern needs to hang himself for allowing these officials to insult ppl intelligence with these in your face one sided, favoritism, game causing calls..

The officials and David Stern should have been fined $100K apiece for the travesty that went on Friday night. Most blatantly rigged game I have ever witnessed in 50 years of watching the NBA.
