The Pacers selected Solomon Hill with the No. 23 pick in the NBA draft on Thursday. Here’s a look at Hill and how he fits with Indiana:

Bio: Arizona | Senior | Small Forward

Vitals: 6-7, 226 pounds

2012-13 Statistics: 13.4 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.1 steals, 45.8 percent shooting in 35 games.

What Scouts Say: “He was one of the most impressive kids we interviewed. He was extremely serious, articulate, very thoughtful with some of the questions we asked. But I’m not sure what you do with him. I don’t know how athletic he is.”

Team Fit: Did the Pacers think this was the 23rd pick of the second round? This selection came waaaay out of left field, but it feels like a good personality fit for a blue-collar Pacers team. Hill was an underrated cog of last year’s Arizona team that made the Sweet 16, and he’s more skilled than he’s given credit for. Overall a steady, solid team guy. Feels like a Pacer, even if Indiana almost certainly could have picked him much deeper in the draft.
