For the second time in less than a year, Lakers All-Star guard Kobe Bryant and his wife, Vanessa, have listed one of their multi-million dollar Newport Coast, Calif., mansions for sale.

The Los Angeles Times reports that the Bryants have listed the 8,500-square-foot “Mediterranean-style” home for $8.599 million.

Set on a half-acre and built in 1997, the Mediterranean-style home is set behind gates at the end of a cul-de-sac. “All remodeling was done by the current owners,” states the listing. There is an 850-square-foot gym, a hair salon, a paneled office/library with a shark tank, a theater, four bedrooms and seven bathrooms in the two-story house. The grounds include a swimming pool and spa, lawn, a fire pit and an outdoor kitchen.

The property last sold for $1.7 million in 1997, public records show.

TMZ.com reported back in January that Vanessa Bryant had sold a 6,000-square-foot Newport Coast home for $3.22 million. The two homes — labeled on the map below — are literally right around the corner from each other. Vanessa’s mother was reportedly living in the smaller of the two homes, which was originally listed in Sept. 2012.

Magnificent Mediterranean Estate! Set behind massive private gates in a prestigious guard gated community is this recently expanded, reconstructed and highly upgraded custom estate. ALL remodeling was done by the current owners! Boasting unobstructed ocean and city light views, the setting is truly spectacular! Set at the end of a cul-de-sac, with complete privacy, the two story floor plan spans approx. 8500 sq ft. Interior attributes include all new 850 sq ft gym, hair salon, and a large paneled office/library with a shark tank. In addition, there is a dramatic master suite with sitting room, large marble bathroom and a newly added tremendous finished walk in closet. In addition there is a newly built separate staircase leading to the all new state of the art theater, lobby and wet bar. New interior finishes include limestone and solid walnut flooring, limestone capped staircases, and much more. The resort quality grounds are graced with an extra deep custom pool and spa with water features, lush manicured lawns, fire pit and an outdoor kitchen/ BBQ center! This is a one of a kind estate!

Bryant, 34, averaged 27.3 points, 6 assists and 5.6 rebounds for the Lakers last season. He is currently rehabilitating from a season-ending Achilles surgery and was recently cleared to run on an anti-gravity treadmill.

The 15-time All-Star has earned more than $249 million in salary during his 17-year career and he is set to make $30.5 million in 2013-14, making him the NBA’s highest-paid player. Bryant ranked second among NBA players on Sports Illustrated’s “Fortunate 50″ ranking of the top-50 highest-earning professional athletes back in May.

Her mother lived in the other 3.2 million dollar home and Kobe would not give his parents a home over 500K...sorry no wonder his mom was upset...I know his mom might not be the nicest person but I think any one of us would be a little upset if our kid no matter how not perfect the relationship put their in laws in a much nicer house than his own parents... but to each his own.

Why would you include a map of his address?

What's wrong with you people???

Sorry, but this is not a mansion. Some gaudy bling does not turn a suburban tract house into a mansion, no matter the square footage. Unless you meant *McMansion.*

@Mr. J Dude, his Mom has MULTIPLE houses and Kobe paid for a few of them. Plus her HUSBAND has money too, since he is an ex-NBA'er, coach, and an investor in foreign pro teams. Not sure why anyone expects Kobe to be her lifelong bank. She is NOT struggling!

@Mr. J I have't talked to my mother in years, i wouldn't give her a cardboard box to live in, i would sooner buy my in-laws a house then my mother (would buy my dad a house). Its not unheard of, my mother would find a reason to complain about a free house at least the in-laws would be appreciative. The further i get from her the better off i get, no joke.
