Video: Trailer for Linsanity documentary

Jeremy Lin, Rob Mahoney

Evan Leong has had a camera trained on Jeremy Lin for years — long before the undrafted, twice-waived point guard’s torrential stint with the Knicks, his break into the NBA with the Warriors or even his charismatic run at Harvard. Lin has been Leong’s interview and B-roll subject since his days at Palo Alto High School, as the director had the uncanny foresight to put in motion a documentary about the player despite of occasional high school struggles and limited NCAA interest.

What resulted was Linsanity, a full-length documentary feature that debuted at Sundance in January and has made a few stops on the festival circuit since then. Some thoughtful reviews have already been written on the film, but audiences in select cities (“Boston, Los Angeles, New York, and San Francisco, along with 10 to 15 other cities,” per Variety) will have a chance to see it in theaters on Oct. 4.

Can't wait to see this film. It's been in the works for years, and ESPN wanted to buy it for a little over $100,000. Ha ha, joke is on them. Everyone will be surprised by Linsanity once again. Too bad it's not being shown in more cities. It would do well in a lot of Bible belt cities like Atlanta, Raleigh Durham, Nashville, Little Rock, etc.
