Video: Jalen Rose predicts that Michael Jordan will play in a Bobcats game this season

Charlotte Bobcats, Michael Jordan, Rob Mahoney

As part of Grantland’s NBA video preview series, the ever-outspoken Jalen Rose offered a pretty wild prediction: That a 50-year-old Michael Jordan, who is currently the majority owner of the Charlotte Bobcats, would play in one NBA game this season.

Without digging too much into the complexities of selling off majority ownership of a lowly franchise in a hurry or the seeming impossibility of a competitor like Jordan settling for a one-game stint in the pros, I’ll just say this: No. Nope. Not a chance. Can’t happen and won’t happen.

You guys are idiots.. MJ is without a doubt, the GOAT. 6/6 championships. Kobe and LeBron has already failed. GG! MJ might forever be the GOAT.

Hopefully he does play, in a game vs the Heat so LBJ can show him how the GOAT really plays.

Was Jalen drunk again? Hope he wasn't driving.

Who cares. ... Jordan is old and this is nothing but something to sell tickets and boost his media built ego.  I do see Bill Russel trying to play for the Celtics. ... I mean if we want to see the best basketball player in the history of the game play, somebody better call Russel, then raise Chamberlain from the dead, then Oscar Robertson and Jabbar. ..but Jordan? please!

Could there be a way for him to participate in all-star weekend?

If MJ does play he's bound to do better  on the court than he has off. He just isn't cut out for the front office.

Jalen Rose is an idiot who feels entitled to things because he was a pro basketball player. He is a clown and shouldn't have a job talking basketball. His career was a disappointment to all the hype he received for being a member of the Fab Five at Michigan. There was a Fab Five that won a championship but that was the first one from the University of Kentucky.

So many people get offended when you mention that MJ did roids. Blind idiots. Face the facts, he's a guaranteed user.

@Moxadonis  It would have been 8/8 if he wasn't screwing-around with a bat for almost two NBA seasons, right smack in the middle of the two, three-peats!  THE, ALL-TIME NBA, MAN, had to step away/lost some basketball focus, for personal reasons (his dad), and I have always understood that.  I do not think that anyone believes that the Rockets would have had those two championships if THE GOAT was around the windy city...People/two-bit hypers talk about LBJ being a better all-around player.  You have to be kidding!  THE GOAT made stars of everyone around him! All-offense, all-defense, all-playmaker, all-clutch, and, if he ever needed to get an offensive rebound, unstoppable; he did not bother pulling it in, he slammed it home, practically, from anywhere on the court!  (OK, that is a bit of a hyperbole).  Skill sets?  Team player? Forget about it, even if LBJ gets 12 rings, there is no comparison.  THE GOAT would find a way to beat you, even if he had to assist/make Steve Kerr a hero (who, at the time, was dealing with his own, great, personal loss)! By the way, of the countless, prototypical, inventive, ways he found to win/beat you, passing up the shot in favor of Kerr, is my all-time favorite GOAT play; it epitomizes why I think he is not only the GOAT, but, also, the GOATMVP!  The GOAT team selection starts with Michael Jordan! As for personal charisma, marketing, forget it, THE MAN could, and, still, can, light-up and fill every, remotely-loving, basketball-heart throughout the world! Only Ali and Pele have that type of timeless world-wide appeal, and, fittingly, they are the world-wide GOATs of their sports (boxing and soccer)!  Even, today, when he talks trash for fun, the GOAT, fills-up the screen, and, the world pays attention/listens! Frankly, people can't get enough of his greatness!  Stay healthy, MJ, and, just for fun, you might want to lace them up, for a few minutes, one more time, not only for your young fans (still), but, also, for us middle/golden-agers out here!  Kinda like your place in history, transcending all age(s)!  Gotta feel for Kobe, though, if you should chose to do that.  That would be another few points he would have to get!  Heck, you could rib his forever about it!  lol  :-)

@ElvisHitler   Yes, but, if the GOAT drops 20 on him at 50+ years of age, guys like you will say it was a fluke...:-)

@Bucky182 You are a bit out of the loop.   Try Google.  It's new.  You can find some info on just about any subject.

@x72 Joe Montana is not the GOAT of the NFL.... you can't have one because there are too many positions - maybe greatest QB - and I dont even think that

Ruth - yeah

LBJ - not yet

@Richard--Ramirez It doesn't offend me.  Let me put it this way.  Find me some sort of proof.  I mean lets look at people we know used.  A Roid used but he used his whole career basically so the evidence was in his blood and urine.  Bonds on the other hand had his huge blowup and thats a dead give away.  Unless Jordan used from college on he was really about the same weight most of his career.  Also in a sport like Basketball the effects of roids aren't as useful as they would be in baseball or football.  You don't really need a ton of dense muscle to play Basketball.  Lean muscle yes but in the time when Jordan played they didn't have many of the advanced hormones that they do today.  Roids were used basically for getting Arnold Jacked.  Now it wouldn't SUPRISE me to find out he used.  Sadden me yes surprise me no.

@Richard--Ramirez Richie, you are always running around here guaranteeing stuff that you cannot guarantee.   Got any evidence to back up your blather?
