Video: Hall of Famer Chris Mullin dominates Kings shooting contest

Chris Mullin, Rob Mahoney, Sacramento Kings

With UC Santa Barbara hosting Kings training camp, Sacramento owner Vivek Ranadive looked to get a few local students involved. Two lucky hoopers — who reportedly were hanging around the facility, just hoping to catch sight of the Kings in ingress or egress — were invited to compete against Jimmer Fredette, DeMarcus Cousins and Ben McLemore in a three-point-shooting contest. If they somehow got the best of the Kings’ reps, those students would be Ranadive’s personal guests at the Kings game of their choosing, regardless of locale.

But Ranadive sneaked in a ringer for the contest: 50-year-old Hall of Fame shooter Chris Mullin, a Kings front-office official who was introduced as a “16th-year senior” majoring in “surfboard aerodynamics.” Despite retiring from the NBA more than a decade ago, Mullin’s shot looked as silky as ever. He crushed the competition by making his first 12 attempts and 14-of-15 overall (Jimmer made 10-of-15, the best of the three Sacramento players). Mully’s still got it.

Another reason why Dolan is the worst owner (next to the Coupons (WIlpons)) Mullen is a New York guy. Starred at St. John's and where is he? Working for the Kings. He should be the Knicks GM or at least in the Knicks organization.

The majority of NBA'ers rely solely on their athletic ability. Guys like Chris Mullen are gym rats. He probably still shoots 100 3's everyday,
