Video: LeBron James finishes alley-oop from Mario Chalmers
The Heat bench (particularly Michael Beasley) enjoyed this one: After forcing a turnover to ignite a fast break, Mario Chalmers flipped an over-the-head alley-oop pass to LeBron James for an emphatic finish late in the first half of Tuesday’s 118-95 victory against the Bucks in Miami.
“I was ready for whatever,” James said after the game, according to the South Florida Sun Sentinel. “Once he threw the ball up there, I couldn’t let him have a turnover, had to go get it.”
James got the fourth quarter off after the Heat built an 85-62 lead. He finished with 33 points (on 13-of-21 shooting) for Miami, which hit 58.2 percent from the field in its most lopsided win of the season. Beasley chipped in 19 points off the bench and got into the alley-oop act off a feed from Dwyane Wade:
Before the game, James lamented the state of Miami’s “terrible” defense. The Heat responded by holding the Bucks to 35 percent shooting through three quarters, though Milwaukee played without Ersan Ilyasova, Larry Sanders, Luke Ridnour and Carlos Delfino. Caron Butler was the only Bucks starter to crack double figures, scoring 10 points on 4-of-15 shooting.
