Video: Heat’s LeBron James angrily confronts Mario Chalmers during huddle

Ben Golliver, Indiana Pacers, LeBron James, Mario Chalmers, Miami Heat

LeBron James angrily confronted Mario Chalmers during the third quarter of Miami’s 97-94 home win over Indiana on Wednesday.

Chalmers, a regular target of criticism from his Heat teammates, committed a turnover, missed a three-pointer and committed two fouls during a two-minute span of the third quarter. The second of the two fouls came on a Paul George three-point attempt, leading to three free-throws.

Here’s an animated look at James’ outburst, which ended quickly as teammates intervened.

TNT’s cameras apparently caught James saying “My bad” to Chalmers during a fourth-quarter stoppage of play, and both addressed the confrontation on Twitter after the game.

“I love Mario Chalmers like a blood brother!” James wrote. “I was wrong and apologized to him! We good and will always be good. I ride [with] him any [and] every day.”

Chalmers replied: “All good big bro. At the end of the day we brothas and nothin’ gonna change that.”

Heat coach Erik Spoelstra pulled Chalmers from the game for good midway through the third quarter. Chalmers finished with four points (on 1-for-5 shooting), five assists and two turnovers in 19 minutes.

The exchange did not stand in the way of Miami’s comeback victory. James tallied 24 points (on 8-for-14 shooting), nine rebounds and seven assists, while Dwyane Wade scored a game-high 32 points (on 15-for-25 shooting) and added three rebounds for the Heat.

Paul George led the Pacers with a team-high 25 points (on 8-for-16 shooting), eight rebounds and six assists in a losing effort.

Miami improved to 19-6 with the win; Indiana dropped to 20-5 with the loss.

Chalmers is a punk so I know he said something to annoy King Flopper.  But let's be real, LeBron wouldn't get in the face of anyone that he thought might actually hit him...

Oh please, no one is afraid of Lebton. Lol. Look at him...he wanted to be held back.

I like that LeBron was criticized earlier in his career for not being "fired up" enough and passively letting championships slip away.  But now that he has a bit of fire in his belly and is holding his teammates accountable he's being called a "baby" and "Queen James".  C'mon people, get a grip.

Why does it look like Haslem and him knew he was going to do this? Look at Haslem him already holding his arm. LeBron is a baby. Lucky for him, Ray Ray kept the media from ripping him again with last years miracle.

Just like MJ used to do; rip a-holes when someone is not measuring up. Who believed this was "just another game"??

To the instigating writer, he didn't 'apparently apologies' he apologized. I guess you missed them replaying it over and over again in the broadcast. I wasn't a fan of Lebron James until he rendered a sincere apology. He called the man by his name and with his head up looking him in the face apologized.  I wonder how many out there got the guts to know they are wrong and make a sincere apology? Perhaps that's the bigger story and lessons to teach. Perhaps.

Applause to LeBron for being a leader and stepping up and calling Chalmers out for reckless play.

- The Miami Heat are now Lebron's team. Wade has been dethroned.

I've seen some home brewed refs..but that was ridiculous..

I want to know who lebron is holding hands with just before he gets up, because he doesn't want to let go of that hand.

It's obvious Lebron was wanting to be held back. Just a show of bravado.

Again i blame Pat .... that idiot had one job to do ... just one...  get the Heat some inside help instead of having everything on Lebron's shoulders, thats why he left Cleveland...

Guys like chalmers and bosh show up every few games and when they are not putting points on the board .. they are either taking stupid 3's , dumb fouls or turning the ball over...

What championship team has ever had one person as their best scorer, best rebounder, best passer / assist and best defender... Pat get the Heat something in the paint... And you wonder why Lebron is already the greatest to ever play the game...

Chalmers needs out of Miami... he's better than the role he has.

Lebron calmed down when someone came over and said "Hey, Lebron, don't worry. The refs got this one."

He may not be a mean guy, but squaring off with him would suck for everyone.

@ki.nazir72Truly a giant among men. Indeed, he's little short of a god. I cannot recall anyone else ever issuing a sincere apology. All hail LeBron. ... Get a grip, my friend. Doing the right thing doesn't warrant a gold star.

@friendly--neighborhood--scrawlerAre we talking about the same Pat that put together the team that has been in the last thee championship series, winning the last two? The same Pat that won 4 championships as a coach with the Lakers? The same Pat that had previously won a championship with the Heat as coach/GM? And exatly what has Michael Beasly been this year if not inside help? There are 29 other teams that would like to have an idiot like Pat

@muser

Not really.  He's just an irritant with a decent jumper.  Nothing more than a role player...

Yeah im sure he will be a franchise player -,- yes I feel sorry for him but think about how much he developed through the years playing under wade and lebron. Everyone flips . We even flip on our parents who brought us to this world. Wht is the big deal. Matt barnes insted his teammates a month ago and last time I checked he and his teammates are still s like brotthers. Dont make a big deal out of nothing. Eric bledsoe was able to be the face of phonix after being under chris paul for years. So was harden after being under kevin durant and westbrook. Yeqs it hurts but these critism will allow him to grow as a player

@MikeHuser1LOL that last play was shady...Lebron had his hands all over Paul George...almost like he was saying cmon man game over

Everyone?  I'm pretty sure he's never been in a fight in his life.  There are numerous guys in the league that could stomp him.   I'd even take little Rajon Rondo in a fight any day over LeBron.  LeBron is soft...

@Ruff

ARE YOU AN IDIOT !!!!!

what team did Pat put together in Miami ... please tell me ? last time i checked Lebron and wade took less to make that team.. and without those two would ray allen and others be in miami...

4 championship as a coach ... you are one of those fools that thinks Joe torre was a great manager as well... Pat had friggin all stars at at least 4 positions not to mention 3 of his starter were top 50 greatest of all time , not to mention his role players... Stop and get off yoour knees  Beasly is not inside help the only legit inside help on the team are Lebron and Birdman...

Are u freaking kidding me. What do you mean by the refs got this. Do you know how many freethrows the pacers attempted in the first half. Dont be ridiculous. The refs called everything for the pacers in the first half even that ridiculous flop by paul george. Lebron and wade willed back their team in the game with hard work so go around saying the refs made them won. Did we watch the same game wheere miami rallied back with rays andrasheed 3 pointers. I do admit that last play had a lot of contact but thts wht paul george gets for that ridicous flop

@friendly--neighborhood--scrawler@RuffYour argument isn't even coherent. You just hate Pat Riley. So who DID put this team together? And you remind me of those that say that Phil Jackson only won because he had a lot of talent. Funny thing is that other coaches had the same talent and DIDN'T win. Same thing with Riley! But hey, when it comes down to it, it really isn't even that serious to me. You are entitled to your opnion.
