Video: Heat’s Dwyane Wade, LeBron James connect for no-look alley-oop dunk
Dwyane Wade and LeBron James connected on a no-look alley-oop dunk during the Heat’s 101-95 defeat of the Lakers in Los Angeles on Christmas Day.
With a little less than four minutes remaining in the first quarter and the Lakers leading 16-15, James and Wade broke out on a three-on-two break. James fed Wade, who dribbled into the paint to take Nick Young out of the play before tossing a lob pass with his right hand over his own head.
Filling the left lane, James was able to corral the pass with his right hand and slug it through the rim all in one motion. A trailing Jodie Meeks could only watch along with the rest of the Staples Center crowd, which was clearly impressed by the slam.
Later in the game, Wade would throw an off-the-backboard alley-oop to James, who finished the play with a left-handed slam.
The back-to-back MVP finished with 19 points (on 7-for-14 shooting, eight rebounds and four assists in 36 minutes against the Lakers. Wade tallied 23 points (on 11-for-17 shooting), seven assists and six rebounds in 39 minutes.
Young led the Lakers with a team-high 20 points (on 7-for-18 shooting) and two rebounds in 32 minutes. Meeks added 17 points (on 6-for-12 shooting), four rebounds and three assists in 38 minutes.
