Video: Thunder’s Reggie Jackson throws down poster dunk on Knicks’ Amar’e Stoudemire
Thunder guard Reggie Jackson threw down a poster dunk over Knicks forward Amar’e Stoudemire during Oklahoma City’s 123-94 blowout victory at Madison Square Garden on Christmas Day.
With a little less than eight minutes remaining in the fourth quarter and the Thunder leading by 20, Jackson found himself with a clear path to the basket from the left wing after Tyson Chandler tripped unexpectedly to the court. Jackson took one hard dribble towards the paint before gathering to throw down a one-handed slam over Stoudemire, who flew by from the weakside in hopes of blocking the shot. The 6-foot-3 Jackson packed some punch into the slam, and he drew an appreciative reaction from the crowd even though he was on the road.
Earlier Wednesday, Bulls forward Taj Gibson threw down a big putback dunk over Nets forward Mirza Teletovic.
Jackson, 23, entered Christmas averaging a career-high 12.3 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game in his third season out of Boston College. He finished with 18 points (on 6-for-16 shooting) and two assists in 25 minutes off the bench for Oklahoma City.
The Thunder were led by 29 points (on 10-for-16 shootin), seven rebounds and six assists from Kevin Durant, and Russell Westbrook tallied a triple-double with 14 points (on 5-for-15 shooting), 13 rebounds and 10 assists in just 29 minutes.
Stoudemire led the Knicks with 22 points (on 10-for-16 shooting) and two rebounds. Tim Hardaway Jr. added 21 points (on 8-for-19 shooting) in the losing effort.
Oklahoma City improved to 23-5 with the win; New York dropped to 9-19 with the loss.
