Video: Nets’ Joe Johnson hits buzzer-beating game-winner to top Thunder
Nets guard Joe Johnson hit a buzzer-beating game-winner to lift Brooklyn to a 95-93 road victory over Oklahoma City on Thursday.
With 5.8 seconds remaining and the score tied at 93, Johnson inbounded the ball to Kevin Garnett and immediately received a dribble hand-off out top. Working on Serge Ibaka, Johnson used a crossover and a behind-the-back dribble to create a clean look at an 18-foot jumper from the top of the key. The buzzer sounded as the ball was in the air, and the shot found its way into the net, delivering Brooklyn its second win in the last eight games.
The big finish capped an otherwise flat night for Johnson, who tallied nine points (on 4-for-11 shooting) and four rebounds in 30 minutes. Deron Williams led the Nets with 29 points (on 10-for-17 shooting), four assists and five steals in 41 minutes.
Kevin Durant paced the Thunder with 24 points (on 8-for-13 shooting), four rebounds and four assists in a losing effort.
Brooklyn improved to 11-21 with the win; Oklahoma City dropped to 25-7 with the loss.
