Video: Suns’ Gerald Green hits game-winning jumper to beat Timberwolves

Gerald Green hit a game-winning jumper with 3.9 seconds remaining to lift the Suns past the Timberwolves 104-103 in Minnesota on Wednesday.

With Minnesota leading 103-102 and less than 15 seconds remaining, the Suns began their final possession by milking some time off the clock. Goran Dragic attacked the hoop but decided not to shoot, instead passing to Markieff Morris on the right baseline. There were still eight seconds on the clock, so Morris took his time executing a dribble hand-off to Green, who cut hard to the right corner.

Freeing himself from Corey Brewer with the cut, Green received the ball and immediately rose into a fallaway baseline jumper. Nikola Pekovic switched over to contest the shot, but it swished through.

Kevin Martin missed a jumper on the other end for Minnesota, which led by six with less than two minutes to play.

Green finished with 14 points (on 5-for-12 shooting) and Dragic tallied a game-high 26 points (on 9-for-20 shooting) and nine assists for the Suns, who improved to 21-13. Martin led the Timberwolves (17-18) with 20 points.
